Why This Must Be Read:
This is actually not just a single story, but an entire series that I've come to enjoy greatly and pretty much makes me bounce in my seat when I see a new story posted.

Starting out as an AU of Continuum, Cam decides to change history for himself by leaving essentially a cheatsheet for his (for lack of a better term) younger self in order to not lose out on a chance of happiness once the timeline is back on track. (And she addresses Original!Cam's fate in a very clever way to boot.)

Just the way Slybrarian weaves canon throughout the story keeps things very fun and sexy to read without running into the area of implausibility. The dialogue and pacing are excellent and you find that you can't stop reading once you've began because even if you're familiar with the canon of both SG-1 and SGA, she somehow manages to keep you wondering what's going to happen next and how the boys will handle things.

And as an added bonus over the course of the series, she gives us very rich back-stories for both Cam and Sheppard, borrowing Cam's from [livejournal.com profile] clanmitchell, and how they've always fit together until the events of this particular story leads us into new-ish territory and that they want something, someone, more permanent in their lives.

Snippet:
Lorne suddenly started to grin broadly. "According to Walter, who's usually reliable about this sort of thing, Lieutenant Colonel Cameron Mitchell should just be finishing up a meeting with General Landry. He's not staying on base, but if you hurry you can probably catch him near his office on Level 24."

John stared blankly at Lorne. "Cameron Mitchell. As in our Cameron Mitchell?"

Lorne nodded. "Well, your Cameron Mitchell, sir, but yes."

"Here. On this base."

"Yes, sir," Lorne said. He checked his watch with exaggerated care. "Although if you don't get moving, he may not be here for much longer."

Lorne looked like a cat who had just presented his owner with a dead mouse, reminding John of another thing Lorne was that he wasn't: smug. John really, really didn't know why he put up with it. He had no time to complain, though, because he was too busy leaping from his seat and jogging down the corridor to the nearest elevator shaft. It took a stupidly long time - maybe an entire minute - for an elevator to arrive and then take him down to the right level. He passed several other people until finally he saw the man he was looking for coming down another wise empty corridor. Like John he was wearing his dress uniform; unlike John, he wasn't rumpled-looking in the least.

Another officer, upon seeing an old lover for the first time in nearly a year and a half, might do many things. He might say hello, wave, shake his hand, maybe even go so far as to briefly embrace him in a way that wouldn't draw suspicion. Maybe he would smile and nod, or pass some sort of super-secret hand signal to profess undying devotion. Even on base, the choices were considerable.

Cam smiled and started to raise his hand for a high-five. John, being John, took the opportunity to punch him.

"Ow," Cam said, holding his jaw.

"Um." John looked up and down the corridor and was glad to see no one had witnessed what he had done. It would be inconvenient, to say the least. "Are you okay?"

"Less okay than I was before!" Cam snapped. "What was that about?"

"It might be best to explain that somewhere else. I've got a hotel room off-base. You want to come with me, maybe get a bite to eat, catch a game on TV or something?" John emphasized the word something, in the hopes that Cam would still be interested in 'something' after getting punched. In John's experience, it was usually the case.

Cam stared at him incredulously before shaking his head and laughing. "Nice to see you too, Sheppard."
