Why This Must Be Read: Rodney is dead, but not gone -- like Patrick Swayze in "Ghost", he's still around but unable to talk to anyone or interact with them. The story's light tone downplays the angst and prevents this from being massively depressing, which means that the touching moments sneak up and blindside you (but in a good way). This story is a lovely look at Rodney, at how much he stands to lose and how far he's willing to go to protect the people he cares about ... and, maybe, to get it all back.
