Why This Must Be Read:
What's not to love about a fanfic featuring Teal'c where, for a change, he isn't the new guy? This time, he's the "old pro" at Earth customs (and television), where Jonas is the one to be shocked and amazed. As I read this, I'm reminded of the scene in "Cold Lazarus" in which Teal'c watches the television unguided and comes to the conclusion (rightly, but for the wrong reasons) that Earth is a strange, unstable and dangerous place to be. Jonas is lucky to have a friend like Teal'c who's willing sit with him and explore the shows and on occasion share words or wisdom.
angelsgracie is one of my favorite Stargate authors. She has a firm grasp of all the characters she writes, though none better than Jonas Quinn. She makes me love Jonas even though I haven't yet gotten to his season yet. And although she is always hesitant to write Teal'c, she does the Big Guy equal justice, with spot-on characterization and flair.
