Why this must be read:
This was one of the big bang stories, and the premise was "what if John and Rodney went through the time dilation portal in Epiphany together?" The story is a leisurely paced romance, which suits the setting very well, and it allows for a lot of indulgent domestic scenes like napping, sheep milking, and skinny dipping. But John and Rodney are fun together, and their relationship builds throughout the story, while we march along toward their ultimate rescue.
