Ani272 herself starts her fic with the note "Beware that the Rodney in this story is more of a Season 1 Rodney than a Season 5 one - except where he isn’t. You’ll see!"—and yes, the story shows Rodney at his best, being snarky yet soft-hearted and protective, and it's so easy to lose your heart to him. It feels like a stage play in times of DADT, deeply emotional yet lighthearted, and everyone is so in character, and they deserve their happiness together so much. It's a delightful fic of trials and tribulations and ultimate happiness that's truly worth a read, or two, or three...

Why This Must Be Read:
This story just popped up on AO3, immediately won me over, and is worth being recced here on the spot. It's a story about Rodney and Laura Cadman, written from Cadman's perspective, that gives a wonderful glimpse into a "mission goes awry" in a unique and lovable way.
I fell from one laugh into the next, actually giggling my way through most of the story. Both their voices are so right—the way they rumble and fumble with each other due to old experiences and new awkward necessities. And top of all, there's so much insight put into it, so much love for the characters, and such an exceptional, loving ending. Seeing how Laura's perception of Rodney in general, and of their joined adventure in 'Duet' in particular, changes truly touched my heart and won't fail to move you too.
