Why This Must Be Read: When Daniel leaps to Teal'c's defense in a fraught situation - without noticing that he might need a little defense of his own - Teal'c is left wondering how to deal with this particular Tau'ri. Jack's vague advice might not help very much, either.

I love very early S1 fic, particularly from Teal'c's POV. This is an excellent look at the very beginnings of team: their support of one another, acceptance of differences, and bonding together against outside menaces. An intelligent read, as Random's stories always are!


He was unsure what to make of the fact that a Tau'ri, a scholar, a man with more honor than sense it seemed, would act as his defender. It was...unsettling. It was also--extraordinary. And it seemed it was...Daniel.

Why This Must Be Read: This is a sweet and fun hockey AU. Don’t worry if you’re not overly familiar with hockey; it provides a great background, but this story is very much about Jack and Daniel. It is very gently paced, easily drawing the reader a picture of their daily lives, the development of their relationship, and even mixing in hurt/comfort, as well as some neat nods to SG-1 dialogue and events, which left me smiling!
