Why this must be read:
This is the story where Rodney and Ronon bond over comics. And also explosives, but trust me, what you will remember are the comics. (You do not need to know a lot about comics to enjoy this fic, as I´ve found out first-hand.)
Their friendship here is so very plausible: what they do have in common and what they don´t, how they´ll never be best friends but do become more than teammates. John, Teyla, Lorne, Sam and everyone else on Atlantis are always there in the background; this is daily life on Atlantis while Ronon slowly figures out the important questions – who is Mister Fantastic and is Teyla really invisible? – and rediscovers his own stories.
“Hero For a New Age” has one of the best Ronon POVs I´ve seen and perfect in-character voices for everyone. It´s a story about friendship, family and (super-)heroes, and just as a bonus, it also has explosions and way too many funny parts to quote.

"Superman's the last of his kind, too," Ronon said quickly. “I'm going to try to get McKay to rig me up some heat vision so I can melt steel like Superman."
