Why This Must Be Read: It's a Sam and Walter Harriman friendship fic!
Why should you read something like that, you say? I'm a firm believer that we can learn a lot of characters through other characters, and often this is accomplished in fresh new ways with secondary characters. This is a great fic that explores both Sam and Walter and how their own skills and strengths can compliment each other in the face of danger.
Major Samantha Carter winced as she heard Sergeant Walter Harriman's weapon discharge a lengthy burst of ammunition. They were going to be out of rounds very soon if he carried on like that.
"Sergeant! Fire in controlled bursts."
"Ma'am, I can't hit the side of a barn door with this thing!" he yelled back. "There are too many of them, we're never going to make it."
Through the buzzing in her head, Sam heard the panic in his voice and wondered how this little milk run had managed to go so wrong.
