Why This Must Be Read: This is one of my favourite things, crack taken (semi)seriously. Due to the usual space-time continuum hiccup, NSYNC from an alternate universe where it's the late 1990s materialise in Atlantis. The fic's actually very charming as they're goofy but streetwise teens who, stranded on Atlantis, gradually settle in and endear themselves, even to Rodney. It ends up with John and Rodney having something like a bunch of adopted kids (who're eventually in a poly fivesome when they're of age, but we'll gloss over that!) You don't need to know anything about NSYNC as it's all from Rodney's POV and he hasn't much of a clue who they are, initially. So we find out about the boys and their personalities through Rodney and John, as they settle into Atlantis, and, inevitably, form a gate team. (They're charismatic! They sing! They're great ambassadors!) Through it all, John and Rodney are together, which the boys find very interesting. It's cracky, sure, but with heart and some depth, and it's a fun read.

For those a bit vague about NSYNC from this era, here's a pic. (click arrow at left)
