Why This Must Be Read: Brumeier's work is always a good read. She has a wonderful grasp on John and Rodney and comes up with unique, fun circumstances to put them in. In this one, the Sheppard Brothers are in the role of the Property Brothers: Dave purchases a house for Rodney, and John renovates it until it's Rodney's dream home. Rodney is expecting a child with a plantonic friend, who is in a coma and on life support. John and Rodney really connect as Rodney helps John with the reno. It's charming and fun, with just a little touch of angst.
