Why this must be read: I'm surprised at myself for not having rec'ced this story before! At a time after SG-1 has dissolved and gone their separate ways, Daniel is feeling adrift and obsolete, both personally and professionally, after a year "away," and hoping to find some sort of purpose in his imminent trip to Atlantis, when tragedy befalls and changes everything. This is one of my all time favorite stories, in this or any fandom, bringing to the page inextricably bound plot and relationship, drama, hurt/comfort, romance, friendship, team, recognition deserved, and beautiful understanding, for Daniel and the rest of SG-1, that there's a difference between being alive and living.
Author's Summary: "Daniel is the only one left at the SGC, but a horrific event quickly brings SG1 back together."
